• K-2nd NFL Flag -  Will be played on Saturday mornings at Northwest High School.
• 3rd - 6th - IDYFL -  Will be played on Sundays and rotate by grade level to all host venues including Northwest.
• 7th Grade - It is still being determined but most games will be on Sundays with the possibility of a few Thursday night games.

Practices for 2024 will tentatively start the week of August 19.

• K-2nd - Once a week 
• 3rd Grade  - Twice a week 
• 4th Grade  - Twice a week 
• 5th Grade - Three times a week 
• 6th Grade - Three times a week 
• 7th Grade - Three times a week 
• 7-on-7 - Twice a week 

Tentative Schedule (Dates Subject to Change. NWYF will update and notify everyone once the schedule is set):

• Saturday, Sept. 7th:  First games for K-1 & 2nd Grade Flag
• Thursday, Sept. 12th: First game for 7 ON 7
• Sunday, Sept. 8th: 3rd-6th Grade Scrimmage Weekend & First Game for 7th Grade
• Sunday, Sept. 15th: First games for IDYFL 3rd-6th Grade

Teams will play a six game schedule.

• K-2nd Flag-  Other Northwest Teams 
• 3rd -6th IDYFL-  Teams from Johnston, DCG, Norwalk, ADM, Carroll, Perry 
• 7th Grade- Teams from Johnston, Southeast Polk, Ankeny and Centennial  

No, because both will be offered in the fall at the same time, game and practice schedules will conflict.   We are very excited to be able to offer both options for families in the Northwest Youth Football Program, but you will have to pick the option that best fits your needs.

No, children must play in the grade level of football that they are in for the 2024-2025 school year.
